It Is Okay To Do Nothing When You Don’t Want To
So amidst the lockdown, everyone around me was being productive in their
own arenas and some were even trying to step out of the box. There were people
pursuing online courses, some learning to code, some were busy with the ‘Work
from home’ battles, some were winning their victories over the kitchen and many
scrolled kilometres with their fingers on their smart phone screen. There was constant
consumption of content, information happening. Though the world had slowed
down, many took this opportunity to fast forward.
Doctors were battling with the Pandemic and here I was trying to battle
the over productive peer pressure that I was engaging myself in. There was
constant chaos in my mind on things that I was missing on, the way I felt I was
under utilising my time and the fear of losing out in the race. But I will be
honest, I did not feel the slightest urge to even try anything different or
learn something new. I just wanted to slow down my life. Slow down with the
world and pace with it. I had thoughts popping in and out at times, telling me
it is okay to do nothing. This was the least I could, to be honest with myself.
Because trying to do something when you
never feel like doing it, not only causes you discomfort but also can spoil the
purpose and quality of the task.
